Questions about our voices
If prompted by the device, be sure to select "No" when asked if you want to select voices from "English Language Only" which will enable the voice to be selected from the Change Voice menu. UPDATE: we are working on a fix for this.
Occasionally, there is a delay in verification of payment between PayPal and our download servers. This is infrequent, but normal. If this occurs, please wait a few minutes and access your voice(s) at the My Navtones section of our website, by entering your PayPal email address and device ID.
If you paid via e-check or other 'non-verified' form of payment at PayPal, you will need to wait until the payment is verified and cleared – typically 36-48 hours.
Do not use TomTom HOME for purchasing or management of Navtones voices. While you will be able to see Navtones voices in your HOME content sidebar, these voices are not registered in your TomTom account. Your Navtones 'account' is separate, and can be accessed by providing your PayPal email address and your device ID at the My Navtones section of OUR website (www.navtones.com).
Navtones is an independent company, officially partnered with TomTom. Your voices purchased from Navtones are in no way linked to TomTom’s systems, so they send you to us for help. We do not provide support for TomTom devices, except as it pertains to voices purchased from this website. For all non-voice-related device issues, please contact support@tomtom.com. For all issues arising from your Navtones voice(s), please use our Support Form.
Our installer is designed to work on the GO, RIDER, and ONE range of TomTom devices. It does NOT work with ActiveSync-connected PDAs.
To install our voices on your PDA running TomTom, simply copy the three 'data' files from the downloadable .zip file (dataXX.chk, dataXX.vif, dataXX.bmp) to the 'voices' folder in the TomTom portion of your SD card. You may need a card reader to do so.
Because iPods don't have GPS (yet).
Just sign up for our A-List mailing list, and you'll be one of the first to know!
Most probably you've entered in the incorrect device ID. Go to the My Navtones page to which you were directed
after download and check the device ID in parentheses towards the top
of the page against the device ID on your device. These should match
up; if they don't send
mail to support at this domain and we'll straighten
things out. Remember, you can find your device id by
following these
instructions.
Try getnavtonesnoframes.php and if that doesn't work send mail to support at this domain.

Questions about the installer
- Tries to find your device code on your Tom Tom device.
- Contacts our database to look up the voices that have been purchased using that device code.
- Downloads those voices if they don't already exist on your device.
- If your device contains all the voices you have purchased, you will receive a message saying: "There are no updates available or your current Navtones. Check soon, though."
No. You need to download the installer only once. After buying a voice, re-run the installer and it will detect the voices that need installing.
